Hola Amigos. As you know school is starting soon, and for some school have already started < and I’m deeply sorry for you but grateful mine haven’t > So our topic of interest today is School and I have a few thoughts to spill so let’s get started with our discussion. As always have a fantastic day. < I made a podcast episode for this article, so you can go listen to that If you want. >

I like online school a lot but I think we need some characteristics of regular or face to face school. So my ideal schooling process would be what they call the blended approach which means that you go to the school for some days out of the week and you do online school for the other days of the week. < I’ll tell you more about my thoughts on the blended approach later.>

Online School – Some kids don’t really like it because of the lack of interaction. They like to interact with the teachers and other students < especially the trouble makers > It’s very easy to become distracted while doing online school. You can so easily just text with your friends, scroll through TikTok or Instagram, or watch YouTube and Netflix. In a sense, online school gives students more freedom.

The technical difficulties of online school. This is one of the Major cons of doing online school, but I think students like it when the teachers < not themselves > have technical problems because they might get a free session or period and it’s nice for them especially when they don’t like the class. Another thing is all the extra notes and homework teachers give because it’s online school that is unnecessary and it pisses me off because sometimes they would get it from google and it would not make sense and the teachers wouldn’t go over it. I think with online school not only the students slack off but the teachers too.

One thing I do like with online school is that it allows you to get creative and by this, I mean finding all these different websites and tools to help you as wee as the different ways you could make or do your projects digitally, it gives you a lot of creative freedom. It is very easy to cheat though, and that fact allows the students not to study but it hurts them because they're the ones that don’t know the knowledge they might need. And the teachers do know when you got your answers from google as well.

Face to face / regular school – The interaction side of things is used to get students engaged in the lesson. Students can also get distracted with face to face school too because they will talk to their friends or you’ll have the classmate that likes to rile the teacher up. People don’t want to get up early, and some just don’t like wearing a Uniform. Every side has its pros and cons.

So I asked my friends their thoughts and basically what I got was that blended approach should be what we're doing. Cause they both like and hate the two styles. So mixing online school and regular school would be the perfect solution. Also, I think eve after Covid 19 / Corona blended approach should be an option.
